White and Gold birthday cake

I broke a lot of my own rules on this cake. I don't usually decorate cakes other people make, but for this one I made an exception. The birthday girl requested a white cake with gold details and left the design up to me. I love how the flowers turned out. I think this design would work for an anniversary or wedding as well.

Orange ruffle flower cake

I have really been enjoying playing around with gum paste flowers. I made this one for a friend's birthday. It's chocolate cake with vanilla butter cream, her favorite combination. She does a lot of paintings in yellow, orange and green so that's why I picked this color combination.

5 tier petal wedding cake

This is my biggest cake to date! 5 tiers, 3 vanilla buttermilk, 2 chocolate :) I made this cake for Justin's cousin, Sarah's wedding. It was definitely time consuming, but I really like how it turned out. The flowers are gumpaste and the topper was provided by the bride.

Ruby red 40th anniversary cake

I have to confess that when my lovely friend, Tracy,  told me they were using carnations for center pieces a little piece of me freak out. I hated the original way I learned how to make carnations! So, I decided to turn to youtube for help! I am sooooo glad I did. I LOVE how these turned out! Bottom tier is chocolate with peanut butter icing, middle tier is buttermilk cake with vanilla icing, top tier is chocolate with vanilla icing. I also made two dozen cupcakes to go with the cake but forgot to take pictures of it.

Game night cake!

A friend of mine asked me to make her a 2 tier cake to celebrate the one year anniversary of her company's game night at a local restaurant and to maybe add a couple logos. I went a little above that, lol. I really enjoyed working on this cake. It ended up being much more detailed than I have planned, but I LOVE how it cake together :)
Bottom tier is buttermilk cake with almond/vanilla icing and top tier is chocolate cake with almond/vanilla icing.

Ruffle flowers cake

I am far from girly, the only pink you will find in my closet is the pink in my Dr. Seuss's converses. But, I love DIY projects and anything crafty! I am also a huge fan of black and grey. For this project I decided to play around with the idea of fabric flowers. I love the colors! I am thinking I may do a tiered version of this and add more yellow :)

The cake is actually a styrofoam dummy, so I made cupcakes too:

I am a huge fan of chocolate, caramel and pecans. So, that's what I played around with for these cupcakes and mini cupcakes. They are a deep chocolate cupcake with pecans mixed in through out and pieces of caramel. Pretty yummy! Very brownie like :)
