For Elsa's 4th birthday she wanted a Strawberry shortcake cake. We decided on a strawberry cake with butter cream icing. After trying out several recipes we found a pretty tasty recipe. The fondant decorations took me longer then I expected, I seem to be finding that out a lot lately, it took about 5 hours to decorate but I think it was very worthy it.

DINO!!

I've known Lewis and Henry for awhile now and was really excited to get to make their birthday cake! Their party was at the Science museum so they decided to go with dino theme. I was excited to try out a 3D dino. It took a lot of cake, 2 10in and 1 6in cake to get the dino and 3 batches of icing. It turned out pretty cool.
The kids seem to really like the cake which is all that really matters.

Ladybugs!!

For Ella's birthday she had a ladybug party. The lady bug was yellow cake and the bottom half is a 3 layer chocolate cake both with butter cream icing. It was all covered in fondant.
I also made cookie pops in 3 colors for all the kids. The fondant cookie pops took forever to decorate but I am really happy with how they turned out.

Lena's cake

Lena's birthday was back in January but I just got the pictures from her birthday today.
She wanted a bowling birthday party and requested a purple cake with pink and yellow flowers.
She was really happy with how it turned out.

Zoo York

My 2 youngest brothers are really into skateboarding. Daniel's birthday was this week so I decided to try something I decided he may like. I won't pretend to know anything about skateboarding but I did know that he loves his Zoo york shoes. So, I decided to cover it in fondant and put the zoo york symbol on it. I am a big fan of geometric patterns so I decided to add the black and white pattern to the bottom of the cake.
He loved the cake! He was super excited to show it off to his friends and they all said they wanted me to make their cakes! It was great to see how much he enjoyed his cake!

Spring time!

I've been trying out some new recipes lately to find the perfect Strawberry cake. This was one of the trials so I decided to decorate it using some of the flowers I made recently.

Hello Kitty

I recently got a request for a Hello Kitty cake. Amelia wanted the cake to be Hello Kitty and for it to have stripes. I matched the stripes to the goody bags. When I delivered the cake Amelia told me it was beautiful. That's all the compliments I need, to make a 5 year old light up and be excited about their cake!

David's Birthday cake

My father-in-law's birthday is St. Patrick's day. So, I decided to make a green cake for his birthday. The cake is butter yellow cake with butter cream icing. It's covered and detailed in fondant.

Sesame Street!

For Matthias' birthday his mom wanted an Elmo cake and Sesame Street cupcakes! I have never done either so I was excited to do them! Elmo was chocolate cake, and the square cake and cupcakes were yellow cake. The cupcakes took a good while to make but I am happy with how they turned out. Thanks to Matthias dad for sending me these pictures!

Dora!

For Charlotte's birthday she wanted a Dora cake. I have never done Dora before so I decided to follow some examples online. This took a lot longer than I expected as there are so many colors. Charlotte really liked her cake so it was worth it.
